Tamarack's philosophy has been to integrate the chartering (not only fixing cargoes and preparing charter parties) but when necessary to manage the process through to conclusion. Tamarack has brokered and manage coal top-offs in Chedabucto Bay, Nova Scotia moving an additional eleven million tons of coal on cape size vessels. Cape size vessels leave USEC and GOM ports with less than a full cargo. Topping off these vessels with additional cargo allows for each cape to carry its full compliment of 200,000 Mt. The top-offing of these capes allows frees up berth space at the receiving facility as every four top-offs eliminates one cape delivery. In addition to coal Tamarack has been involved in the chartering of cement aggregate and petroleum coke vessels for its customers.
